To all of you that are sticking by me, racism/privilege posts and all, I thank you.

I realize the triggerous nature of the things that are being sent to me, but understand that I was raised to stand up for what I believed in. To fight against ignorance no matter the cost. I can’t in good conscious ignore bigotry.

Understand that for real change to begin, we must acknowledge and constantly point the inequalities inherent in our system. Before work towards a progressive society can take place, we must know that there is work to be done. 

I know most of you did not start following me because of my beliefs. I know that it may seem excessive. But by some sheer dumb luck I have been given some, however minute, platform to stand on, a platform where I can express injustice where I see it. And to not seize that opportunity would be a disservice to everything I was brought up to be.

And to all of you who have been messaging me with support, it has not gone unnoticed. And from the bottom of my heart, I thank you.

I’m not exactly sure what made me first begin following you. It might have been because of the Hayden and Cara videos, it might have been the simple fact that you’re a nerdfighter (because I tend to do that), and it might have been your openness to sharing your opinion. All I know is that I’m extremely glad to have done so. Whether your opinions differ from mine, or reaffirm them, your arguments are so incredibly grounded in evidence that I can’t help but question my own. I’m learning so many knew things about myself, about the way I think, that I just want to thank you for making me a better person.
